Churning around the Thrities
Full view, well sorta
Churn dash center
Part of the Geisha panel that I am quilting for the back of "Geisha Moon" The gold thread is a little tricky to work with but oh the detail it adds
Small piece by small piece
Had to take my rings off, I kept getting them caught on the batting.
It is a slow process. Have to be careful not cut the quilt.
Cutting out the unwanted batting
6/9/2012 the madness begins, I have to now remove all the high loft batting where I do not want TWO layers of batting. I am removing it from all of the large background areas and the large borders. All the applique, saw teeth, and the center moon
Better look of the basting. Where you see the white thread that is the water soluble thread and will dissolve once I submerge the quilt. The next step will be to remove the batting in areas where I do NOT want double thickness of batting.
In this phase I am quilting around the applique and the small borders with water soluble thread. This is a photo of the high loft batting that will make the applique pop. There is no backing used in this phase the quilt is layered just the batting
